Artists inspire each other, as Paul McCartney has inspired Taylor Swift with the release of his new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane (released on May 29, 2026).

Swift took to her Instagram Stories to rave about the new album, saying, “Never not inspired by this eternally exceptional artist [bicep flexing emoji].”

Her life has been very McCartney-heavy as of late. She attended his intimate Fonda Theatre show alongside other A-listers like Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter.

Swift is coming up on the 20th anniversary of her debut single, “Tim McGraw,” on June 19. Meanwhile, McCartney released his 20th solo studio album (not including his work with The Beatles or Wings) on May 29.

The Boys of Dungeon Lane was Macca’s first album since McCartney III, which was released in December 2020. It closed out a trilogy that began in 1970 with his self-titled debut solo album following The Beatles’ break-up. The second installment came after Wings disbanded in 1980.

It’s impressive to see them both going at such a high rate. Swift released her 12th proper studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Oct. 3, 2025. One year earlier, she released The Tortured Poets Department.

Now, fans are eagerly awaiting her contribution to the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, “I Knew It, I Knew You.” The single was announced after months of speculation regarding her involvement in the movie.

This marks Swift’s first contribution to a movie soundtrack since 2022. She wrote and recorded “Carolina” for the movie adaptation of Where the Crawdads Sing.

The single will be released on June 5, 2026, two weeks before the movie. Swift also made three versions available on CD on her website for a limited time. It marks her latest collaboration with Jack Antonoff, who co-wrote and co-produced the song with her.
