With the regular season kickoff approaching, the Green Bay front office has repeatedly expressed its desire to secure a long-term deal for their premier pass-catching weapon. General Manager Brian Gutekunst has consistently emphasized that locking in Kraft’s future is a top priority for the organization before live games begin.

In a recent post on X, The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman shared Gutekunst’s latest comments from a press conference: “Gutekunst said they’d really like to extend Tucker Kraft before the season. They’re working toward it, he says.” As Jordan Love’s primary target in the passing game, the front office is eager to finalize terms and eliminate any potential contract distractions ahead of Week 1.

Kraft’s swift recovery from injury makes it even more urgent to complete a long-term agreement. After a promising season was cut short in Week 9 due to a torn ACL, the 25-year-old tight end has put all injury concerns behind him during August practices. According to CBS 58 News’ Cameron Ezier, Kraft confirmed he is no longer on a snap count or facing any medical limitations, adding that both he and the franchise are aligned regarding a pre-season extension. With his health restored and motivation at its peak, Green Bay aims to finalize a historic deal.
