Skylar Diggins officially done as Sky limp to finish line of another awful season
The Chicago Sky have endured another disastrous season in 2026. Chicago was eliminated from playoff contention in front of a record audience on August 24th. Now the Sky must limp to the finish line without one of their best veteran players.
Sky guard Skylar Diggins will miss the rest of the season as she recovers from an aggravated right knee injury, per The Athletic’s Annie Costabile.
“We’re in full support of Skylar and want to make sure we are steadfastly prioritizing her health,” general manager Jeff Pagliocca said, per Costabile. “Skylar made a strong effort to get back to the court this season. She’s been in constant communication with us through the entire process.”
Chicago signed Diggins to a two-year contract worth $1.86 million during the offseason. They are choosing to prioritize her health with the 2026 season too far gone to rescue.
