Tarik Skubal has won back-to-back American League Cy Young awards. He is arguably the best pitcher in all of MLB. Before suffering the elbow injury, Skubal had pitched to a 2.70 ERA across seven starts. He had also struck out 45 batters.

The southpaw is set to enter free agency after the 2026 campaign. Skubal could potentially receive the biggest contract ever for a pitcher. He will only increase the chances of that happening by returning soon and performing well.
