Sonny Gray drops powerful message after Red Sox’s 7th straight win

The Boston Red Sox are clearly the hottest team in all of baseball. On Wednesday, Sonny Gray and his teammates took down the Chicago White Sox for their seventh straight win. Additionally, this is the team’s 30th win in their last 35 games.

Boston dropped two of three games to the Washington Nationals in early July. Since then, they have won nine consecutive series. It’s hard to overstate just how much everything is clicking for this team. Gray summed it up quite nicely when speaking to reporters after Wednesday’s win.

“Showing up to the park and just expecting to win,” the Red Sox veteran said, via MassLive reporter Chris Cotillo, “no matter what it looks like.”

Gray was a major reason for this win, as well. The 36-year-old tossed six innings of shutout ball, allowing just three hits. He struck out eight White Sox hitters and walked just two. Boston’s bullpen held the line for the final three innings, and the Red Sox celebrated the shutout win at Fenway Park.

The veteran hurler has had a strong season overall, as well. He owns a record of 14-2 on the year with a sparkling 2.78 ERA and 106 punchouts. Gray has helped stabilize a rotation that has lacked ace Garrett Crochet for nearly the entire 2026 campaign.

The Red Sox are looking like a true threat to make a run in October. Of course, they will need to keep this momentum going as long as they can. Boston will attempt to sweep the White Sox on Thursday before facing the Athletics in a three-game set beginning on Friday.
