Derek Hill suffers scary collision during Phillies-Nationals clash

The Philadelphia Phillies aim to move on from the MLB Trade Deadline. But may need to roll without Derek Hill, following a scary MLB Injury collision against the Washington Nationals in the 10-4 loss.

The center fielder attempted to pull off an outfield catch over the Citizens Bank Park wall. But instead he smacked head first into the wall, with the ball clanking off and rolling towards right field.

The scary moment helped break a 4-4 tie during the top of the 11th inning. Hill got attended to by Phillies trainers. Washington eventually extended the lead to 10-4 after Hill left.

However, Hill rose to his feet and managed to walk off with trainers. His injury halted what became a solid offensive night for him.

Hill scored one run and even stole his 12th base of the season, He grabbed the third base bag and eventually scored on a Trea Turner sacrifice fly ball toward right field, tying the game up at 4-4 in the bottom of the 10th.

But CJ Abrams broke the tie during the Hill collision, scoring two after blasting the 82 miles per hour knuckle curve ball. Washington poured it on scoring wise from there.

Miles Mikolas hit a sacrifice bunt that lured Abrams home. Andres Chapparo doubled to left field and scored two of his Nats teammates. Nasim Nunez arrived next to hit a sacrifice ground ball toward the short stop that drove two more Washington players home.

Philadelphia drops to 61-54 overall but again, the focus shifted to the health of Hill after the loss.
