Klayton Adams loves GOTI ‘standard’ Dak Prescott set for Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys had one of the best offenses in football last season, but it still wasn’t enough to get them into the playoffs. A lot of that came down to the defense, which was one of the worst units in the NFL.

A lot of the focus this offseason has been on the improvements on defense. There have been plenty of those, including the decision to hire Christian Parker as the new defensive coordinator and the addition of Caleb Downs and others into the secondary.

But the offense still feels like it can improve. Recently at training camp, quarterback Dak Prescott revealed the nickname he wants this offense to have in 2026: GOTI. That stands for “Greatest Offense There Is.” Offensive coordinator Klayton Adams is fully on board with that, and he loves the standard that the star quarterback is setting for his group, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.

“I think it’s amazing because to me it’s a standard they’ve set for themselves,” Adams said. “It’s very easy for me, if we’re not having a great walk-through or we don’t have a great practice to pull that out and say, ‘Guys, that’s not what (GOTI) is.’ … To me it’s, if we want to be the best, you better frickin’ act like it every single second. You better hold yourself to that standard. I love it.”

Dallas returns all 11 starters from an offense that as already elite in almost every area last season, so expectations are through the roof for Prescott and company. CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens form one of the best wide receiver duos in football, Prescott has continued to get better and better over the years, and Javonte Williams is coming off of a career year at running back.

The offensive line is also fully intact, which should allow Prescott to have one of his best seasons in 2026. If Adams and the Cowboys offense continues to improve, which is possible given the continuity on the roster, Dallas could find itself making noise in January.
