Saturday horse racing tips

Ayr

1.10: Traprain Law 5/1 each-way (1pt)
2.20: Gibbs Island 9/1 each-way (1pt)
3.35, Scottish Grand National: Isaac Des Obeaux 11/1 & Road To Home 8/1 each-way (1pt each)

Newbury

2.00: Zavateri 2/1 (1pt)

Traprain Law

Traprain Law pulled up in this last year but has a strong form at this course otherwise including when second in this in 2024and winning on heavy ground the month prior.

1lb lower than when pulling up last year and has much better form behind him this year, strong contender.

Gibbs Island

Tutti Quanti will have to pull out a huge run to win here off top-weight, carrying a minimum of 16lb to the closest horse and as much as 20lb to the lowest-rated horses.

There’s also a big shout or two in here for some each-way contenders looking to improve or keep up to their progression shown, like Queenie St Clair winning last time out.

The Scottish Champion Hurdle is a tough one being a handicap and Gibbs Island looks to be a great weight and though came seventh last time out, wasn’t far off.

At just five-years-old he’s entitled to progress further and already rated 133 it wouldn’t be surprising for him to capture better form as he gains more experience.

Isaac Des Obeaux & Road To Home

Won the Midlands Grand National last month and looked in incredible condition suiting the 4m2f with ease.

Had excuses should he have finished behind but instead stayed on well and will probably go even better over 4m, just 2f less.

Road To Home presents a chance for trainer Willie Mullins to win three Scottish Grand National’s in a row.

Dangerously unexposed and placed a narrow second to Ask Brewster in the Kim Muir and can certainly build on his placed efforts this season under a Grand National winning jockey.

Zavateri

Albert Einstein was disappointing last time out and it’s much easier backing Zavateri who looks a dangerous sort back for the season after such an impressive two-year-old campaign.
