Ronda Rousey confirms Gina Carano Netflix fight purses will shatter record

Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano are set to become the highest-paid women ever in MMA history.

Rousey has already confirmed that new ground will be broken, with fighters to earn a minimum $40,000 purse.

And now the trailblazer has suggested that herself and Carano will shatter a record when their final purses are earned.

She explained: “The biggest money fight is the biggest fight period.

“And we [Kayla Harrison] honestly have very different definitions of greatness.

“Mine is making history, making a cultural impact and influencing the future of the sport.

“I’ve already won a record eight consecutive title fights, there’s nothing left for me to do in UFC.

“So now me and Gina are smashing the record for the most women have been paid in combat sports.”

Rousey is still one of the biggest commercial superstars despite her lengthy absence.

She was often compared to Conor McGregor during her rise, and after nine years out of the cage, interest is back peaking again.

Ronda Rousey’s future after Carano fight

Rousey is earning big for her clash with Carano as aforementioned, but is a brash-talker and a campaigner for fighter’s rights.

It is expected she won’t fight again unless her new rivalry with her opponent requires a rematch.

And now ‘Rowdy’ believes she could help team up with promoter Paul to go up against Dana White and the UFC.

She said: “I mean, I think this is really my audition to see if [Netflix/MVP] would like me to be in that role.

“I think that, honestly, nobody’s more capable than I am and that I would do an incredible job.

“I’ve basically been Dana’s apprentice this whole time, and I’ve followed him around and see how he does it.

“But we’ll see how this goes, and we’ll see if we can work something out.”
