Why do Nottingham Forest not have a front-of-shirt sponsor?
Nottingham Forest are set to start the new Premier League season without a front-of-shirt sponsor.
It marks the fourth time since their return to the top-flight in 2022 that the club have reached August without a deal in place.

Forest have spent pre-season playing friendlies without a logo on their shirts.
They are not the only side to do so, though, with Chelsea also without a front-of-shirt sponsor at present.
Oliver Glasner’s side now look set to continue the trend into the new campaign.
They host Leeds United at the City Ground on Saturday, August 22 as the season gets underway.
The two sides then meet again in the Carabao Cup second round three days later.
Do Forest have a shirt sponsor?
Forest are currently without a front-of-shirt sponsor, with a replacement for their 2025/26 partnership yet to be reached.
The club were sponsored by gambling company Bally’s last term after reaching an agreement in August 2025.
Their deal was struck less than two weeks before the start of the campaign.
Although Bally’s remain a club partner, they are not permitted to feature on the front of Forest’s shirts this term.
It follows the introduction of a Premier League ban on betting sponsors.

Nottingham Forest's pre-season schedule

- July 22 – Nottingham Forest 3-0 Blackburn
- July 26 – Nottingham Forest 1-1 Vitoria

- July 31 – Nottingham Forest 1-4 Sporting Lisbon
- August 8 – Udinese 1-0 Nottingham Forest
- August 8 – Nottingham Forest 0-1 Barcelona
- August 12 – Nottingham Forest 2-1 Leverkusen
- August 16 – Nottingham Forest vs Brest
From the start of the 2026/27 season, gambling logos are no longer allowed to appear as front-of-shirt sponsors.
However, they can still be displayed on shirt sleeves and training kits.
Forest shirt sponsors
Forest’s current lack of a front-of-shirt sponsor marks the continuation of a common theme since their promotion in 2022.
Four of their five seasons in the Premier League since have seen August begin without a sponsorship deal in place.
Meanwhile, three of those campaigns began before an agreement was reached, with the Bally’s partnership finalised 12 days before last season’s opening fixture.
In 2022, Forest played their first 16 matches of the season without a sponsor before agreeing a deal with the UN Refugee Agency in December of that year.

Nottingham Forest front-of-shirt sponsors
Since promotion in 2022
- 2022-23: UNHCR
- 2023-25: Kaiyun
- 2025-26: Bally’s
The partnership saw the UNHCR logo appear on the front of their shirts once the Premier League resumed after the World Cup.
With that deal only running until the end of the campaign, the 2023/24 season followed a similar pattern.
Forest went three league matches without a front-of-shirt sponsor before announcing Kaiyun as their new partner.
The gambling firm remained as their front-of-shirt sponsor until the end of the 2024/25 season.
