Roman Reigns ‘acknowledges’ Knicks, Jalen Brunson after championship win

It takes years for WWE star Roman Reigns to “acknowledge” most, but the New York Knicks and Jalen Brunson earned that after their championship win.

The “Tribal Chief” posted an edit of the 2025-26 Knicks team with the Larry O’Brien Trophy, writing, “Acknowledge The Champs!” with an index finger pointing up emoji and tagging the team and Brunson.

Of course, Brunson is a big WWE fan, and like Reigns, he’s one of the most influential names in his sport. Surely, it must’ve felt good to get acknowledgement from the World Heavyweight Champion.

In five games, the Knicks took down the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, winning the franchise’s first championship since 1973.

Game 5 was a nail-biter, as the Spurs were playing in front of their home crowd. While they looked good early on, holding a five-point lead at halftime, they weren’t able to finish the job. They held the Knicks to just 37 points in the first half, and they looked like they couldn’t find a rhythm.

Brunson would not let his team lose. He scored 45 points while making more than half of his shots. He also had three rebounds and three assists.

Throughout the series, he averaged 32.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. The Knicks’ captain came through when it mattered the most. He was an integral part of their entire postseason run, averaging 28.4 points per game in the playoffs.

Brunson joined the Knicks before the 2022-23 NBA Season. While he has led the team to the playoffs in all four years, they won a championship in his fourth season with the team. He has always been a winner, though, winning two NCAA championships with Villanova.

With the Knicks, Brunson has been an All-Star three times (every year from 2024 to 2026) and was named to the All-NBA Second Team three times in the same stretch.
