Report: Warriors fully ready to offer No. 11 pick in Giannis Antetokounmpo trade talks

The Golden State Warriors were unable to move up in the NBA Draft Lottery Sunday, coming out with the 11th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft next month.

With the pick, the Warriors have a number of different directions they can go to build a roster. The very first option would be to simply keep the pick, select a really good player, and continue to try and stay competitive in the Western Conference albeit not in championship conversations.

The second and more likely option at this point would be to place the No. 11 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft in a package for a superstar player that could extend the championship contention window of the Warriors with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr.

Golden State were heavy favorites to land Giannis Antetokounmpo at the trade deadline if the Milwaukee Bucks would decide to trade him due to the Warriors’ four available first round draft picks.

According to ClutchPoints’ own NBA insider Brett Siegel, the Warriors remain open to trading that pick for Antetokounmpo.

“Still, pursuing a trade for a big-name star remains extremely relevant for owner Joe Lacob and the Warriors, and there have been no shortage of talks regarding Giannis and the Warriors among rival teams,” Siegel reported. “Many fully expect Lacob and his front office to package this No. 11 pick with other future assets to try and convince the Bucks to trade them Antetokounmpo.”

The Warriors defeated the LA Clippers in the first round of the NBA Play-In Tournament, but fell to the Phoenix Suns, who secured the eighth seed with a victory. Since the loss, Golden State has been lying in wait as head coach Steve Kerr decided on his future with the organization and whether or not to return to the sidelines.

Just prior to the start of the NBA Draft Lottery, Kerr and the Warriors agreed to terms on a new deal to remain head coach of the franchise as it closes out it’s Stephen Curry-led era.

If the Warriors call the Bucks with a package involving four first-round picks, including the No. 11 pick in this year’s NBA Draft, for Giannis Antetokounmpo, should Milwaukee strongly consider it?
