Dodgers pitcher Justin Wrobleski makes tough admission after loss to Diamondbacks

The Los Angeles Dodgers are just 9-12 since the All-Star Break. Much of the team has struggled since the break, including starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski, who had a stellar first half for the Dodgers.

Wrobleski was stellar heading into the All-Star Break and has struggled since. He took to the mound on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks and struggled once again. After the game, he spoke about his performance, per SportsNet LA.

“I wasn’t executing the way I wanted to,” Wrobleski said.

Wrobleski had another tough game. Against the Diamondbacks, he pitched just three and one-third innings, giving up six hits while walking three batters. He would strike out three, but also give up a home run. Overall, Wrobleski gave up four runs, with three earned.

It has been a rough go for the Dodgers pitcher since the All-Star break. He was solid in his first start, giving up just one run against the Philadelphia Phillies in six and a third innings of work. Since then, it has been a disaster. He gave up five runs, with four home runs, against the Seattle Mariners in six innings of work. Then, in four and a third innings of work against the Chicago Cubs, he gave up seven runs, while also giving up four home runs in that game.

Overall, Wrobleski is 11-5 on the year and still has a top-20 ERA and WHIP in the majors.

The Dodgers are 70-48 on the year, which gives them the lead in the NL West. Regardless, they are third in the National League and would not have a bye in the playoffs currently. They begin a series with the Kansas City Royals at home on Monday.
