Rabid fans throw objects at Victor Wembanyama outside a hotel

The Big Apple is losing its mind after the New York Knicks won Game 4 against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night. OG Anunoby tipped in the game-winning basket for the Knicks to send Madison Square Garden into a frenzy and Knicks fans into an even bigger frenzy across the world.

The frenzy, however, got a little out of hand when the Spurs bus returned to the team’s hotel late Wednesday night.

It’s unclear who, but as Knicks fans were booing the Spurs exiting the bus and entering their hotel, someone appeared to throw something at the Victor Wembanyama and Keldon Johnson. Luckily, the item missed, hit the street light between the two players, and fell to the ground.

Wembanyama finished Game 4 with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocked shots, but shot just 9-of-25 from the field in the loss. He had just 11 points on 4-of-18 shooting after the first quarter that saw him score 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

The Spurs blew a 29-point lead in the loss, including a 20-point lead with 9:33 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Spurs will now return home for Game 5 of the NBA Finals, where they’ll try to defend home court after losing the first two games at home. The Knicks will look to close out the Spurs and secure their first NBA Championship since 1973.
