Paul Finebaum responds after LSU coach Lane Kiffin lets it all out

LSU took a massive win over Clemson on Saturday. Prior to the game, Lane Kiffin was called out by Paul Finebaum. Finebaum called Kiffin a child, saying, ” He’s a 51-year-old man behaving like a 16-year-old. And the worst part, there are no adults in the room.”

On Monday, Kiffin fired back. Kiffin called him “rat poison,” a common term from his former boss, Nick Saban.

“I like Paul, I really do. He knows that he said something one time to me about like, or he said something about me being like the exit text, and you respond back or something. I don’t think of Paul like that. They have a job to do, and I understand; those things used to make me mad and upset. Then I realized, okay, they have a job to do, especially when two people go on a show; usually they’ve got to take opposite sides. It’s just Paul’s s**t,” Kiffin said.

Now, Finebaum is taking his next shot at Kiffin, but he was a little more subdued this time, responding to the video of Kiffin calling him out.

“Thanks for watching, Coach,” Finebaum posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Finebaum has never been shy about being critical of coaches. He recently called for Dabo Swinney to be fired, while also being critical of Bill Belichick. He has even gone after Nick Saban, not only when Saban was a coach, but also while they have been co-workers at ESPN.

As for Kiffin, it does not matter what Finebaum says if LSU keeps winning. LSU faces Louisnana Tech in Week 2 before visiting Ole Miss in Week 3.
