Panthers trade for Brady Tkachuk from Senators
The Florida Panthers are closing in on a trade for Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk. After winning the gold medal together for Team USA, Brady and his brother, Matthew Tkachuk, will team up in Florida. TSN’s Pierre LeBrun broke the news on Sunday.
“Hearing that the Florida Panthers are getting close to acquiring Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators. I believe Ottawa will get three first-round picks and a second-round pick in the deal if finalized. More to come,” LeBrun reported.
Moments later, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman confirmed the deal, “9 & 25 this year, first 2029 and a second in 2030.”
This comes just hours after the Panthers picked up a first-round pick for Mackie Samoskevich. The trade involves the ninth overall pick, which is the Panthers’ selection, and the 25th overall pick, which they got from the Seattle Kraken in the Samoskevich deal. Florida also parts with its 2029 first-rounder.
More to come on this seismic trade in the NHL.
