Packers to host A&M cornerback nicknamed ‘The Blanket’

The Green Bay Packers will host Texas A&M cornerback Will Lee III on a pre-draft visit next week ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, Sports Illustrated’s Bill Huber reported Friday. The 23-year-old is viewed as a possible late Day 2 or early Day 3 selection for a Packers team in need of cornerback help.

Lee has started 34 games across his college career at Kansas (2023) and Texas A&M (2024-25). Since 2023, he has recorded 28 pass breakups, 4 interceptions, 4.0 tackles for loss, and 2 forced fumbles. At Texas A&M, he amassed 2 interceptions and 10 pass breakups in 2024, ranking fifth in the SEC in pass breakups, followed by 8 pass breakups and no interceptions in 2025.

Pro Football Focus credited Lee in 2024 with a 47.2% completion rate allowed and 4 touchdown receptions allowed, and in 2025 with a 55.2% completion rate allowed and 4 touchdowns allowed. Over those two seasons, he was flagged for 11 penalties and allowed eight touchdown passes and nearly 1,000 receiving yards, including seven plays of 20+ yards in 2025.

Lee began his college career at Iowa Western Community College, where he earned first-team All-American honors in 2021-22 and first received the nickname “The Blanket.” He later spent 2023 at Kansas State, compiling 2 interceptions and 6 pass breakups before transferring to Texas A&M.

At the NFL Combine, Lee measured 6-foot-1 5/8, ran a 4.52-second 40-yard dash, and posted a 42-inch vertical and 11-foot broad jump, producing a 9.39 Relative Athletic Score. He was also invited to the Senior Bowl but did not take part.

Dane Brugler ranks him as the 21st-best cornerback and No. 110 overall prospect, projecting him as a fifth-round pick. Almost all of his snaps came on the perimeter, an area where Green Bay needs help after relying on Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine as primary corners, with both entering contract years, and after releasing Nate Hobbs.

The Packers, who had only one interception from cornerbacks last season, are also hosting other cornerbacks, including Karon Prunty, Malcolm DeWalt, and Charles Demmings.
