Overall, that includes everything from the latest MLB The Show 26 Update 7 Patch Notes. However, the developers also left notes addressing various different topics.

Firstly, they updated the Diamond Dynasty Strike Zone to match real-world ABS rules. Essentially, this means that every pitch that touches the zone will be called a strike. Furthermore, it means:

  • Umpires will continue to make perfect calls in DD with no ABS challenges
  • The updated strike zone will be slightly smaller than previously in DDD. However, this size change happened purely for visual reasons

Secondly, the developers also left a note clarifying their decision to remove PCI shrinkages on pitches down and away. Overall, they stated that they added these changes for balancing purposes. Before this change, this mechanic penalized the user for breaking balls moving away from the batter and if they sent the pitch down in the strike zone.

Therefore, the shrinkage assists the player with the high number of foul balls they saw in the past. But overall, these mechanics remain a large part of the game as a balance method between pitcher and batter.

Lastly, the developers mentioned that they actively monitor the game to combat cheaters. Furthermore, they thanked the community reports for helping them identify issues. Overall, the developers intend to lower the cheating as they create a more fair gameplay system

We look forward to seeing what else SDS adds to the game throughout the season.
