According to Solak’s report, the three-time Super Bowl MVP participated in full-team drills while wearing a protective brace on his surgically repaired left knee. He worked from under center, rolled out comfortably and threw accurately throughout the practice session, providing one of the clearest signs yet that his rehabilitation remains on schedule.

The update carries major repercussions for the Chiefs entering the 2026 season. Mahomes suffered torn ACL and LCL injuries in December 2025, ending his season and contributing to the Chiefs missing the playoffs for the first time since he became the franchise’s starting quarterback.

His full participation on the opening day of training camp suggests his recovery is on track for the regular season. While the Chiefs will continue monitoring his workload, Wednesday’s practice was a key moment in his return.
