Rolly Romero vs Teofimo Lopez: Date, start time, undercard and how to watch world title fight
An all-American thriller sees Rolly Romero fight Teofimo Lopez for world honours.
The long-time friends are set to battle it out for Romero’s WBA welterweight title with so much at stake for both men.

Romero, 17-2 in his professional career, shocked Ryan Garcia last time out in New York’s Times Square to win the WBA ‘regular’ belt by unanimous decision.
He was then upgraded to full champion when Jaron Ennis, who defeated Xander Zayas last month to win the WBO and WBA super welterweight titles, vacated his 147lbs strap and makes his first defence against Lopez.
Lopez, meanwhile, was dominated by Zuffa Boxing’s latest addition Shakur Stevenson when he last fought in January.
The former two-division champion subsequently lost his WBO super lightweight belt and has now moved up to make his debut at 147lbs.

Romero vs Lopez: What has been said?
Speaking at a press conference in July, Lopez, 22-2, explained why he wanted the Romero fight.
“I think we’re at a time in my career where everything is at stake, truthfully,” Lopez explained.
“Was Teofimo just good early in his career and this is the end? Or is this now the start of something new?
“I look forward to it. I want to thank the champ for accepting it and allowing me to step up to the plate to face him.
“He’s a three-weight champion, something I’m looking forward to doing and accomplishing on August 22 at the T-Mobile Arena.”
On fighting someone he’s known personally, the 28-year-old added: “It’s boxing. That’s how we make boxing great again.
“There needs to be some entertainment. We know one another enough to know what triggers us.
“We know possibly secrets that others don’t. Also, the friendship stuff that we hear and see in boxing today needs to be taken away.
“That starts right here.”
Romero added: “It’s just a fight — now, we’re doing it under the big lights with an actual belt.

“He has the opportunity to make history and become a three-division world champion.
“He’s already a Hall of Famer and now I have the opportunity to become a Hall of Famer.”
