Puka Nacua breaks silence on off-field issues during offseason

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua hasn’t changed his playmaking habits. Including igniting fan euphoria at Loyola Marymount University Tuesday for scoring a bonkers touchdown from quarterback Matthew Stafford. But past off-the-field issues rose as a topic Wednesday.

A woman accused Nacua of biting her during the offseason, leading to a restraining order. It moved into a lawsuit in April, one month after the biting accusation. The Rams wideout also drew criticism for making an antisemitic gesture during a livestream video with streamers Adin Ross and N3on.

He finally addressed his controversial offseason after day three of NFL Training Camp.

“Trying to take accountability for the things that I know that I can continue to change and can grow,” Nacua told reporters.

He claims he and his therapist have “connected well” as he addresses his personal conduct.

Nacua didn’t deliver an update on his legal situation and that it’s “not a distraction” for the fall. He praised his support system during this time, including his family and close friends.

But there’s another area of focus involving Nacua: his contract. Nacua remains on his rookie deal and is up for an extension. Head coach Sean McVay spoke early on if Nacua would holdout of camp until a new deal is done. However, Nacua continues to downplay any contract talks, saying he’s more focused being back with the Rams and building new chemistry with the team.

Nacua likely will sit out every preseason game as the Rams prepare for a much-hyped 2026 season.
