Miles McBride is not surprised by Knicks’ X-factor in Game 1
The New York Knicks received plenty of support during their 105-95 Game 1 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, and guard Miles McBride said the strong presence of traveling New York fans was expected.
The Knicks won their 12th consecutive playoff game after overcoming a 14-point second-half deficit to steal home-court advantage in the 2026 NBA Finals. Throughout the night, Knicks supporters made their presence known inside Frost Bank Center, creating an atmosphere that caught the attention of players on both sides.
SNY Knicks took to X, formerly Twitter, sharing McBride’s reaction to the road crowd following Wednesday night’s win.
“It’s not surprising at this point. We know they’re going to be there and gonna be loud, so shoutout Knicks nation.”

McBride’s comments underscored one of New York’s biggest advantages throughout its postseason run: a passionate fan base willing to travel for marquee games. That support was evident during Game 1 as pockets of Knicks fans could be heard throughout the arena while New York mounted its comeback.
The Knicks rewarded those fans with one of their most impressive victories of the season. After trailing by as many as 14 points in the second half, New York outscored San Antonio in the final minutes and closed the game on an 11-0 run to secure a 105-95 victory.
Jalen Brunson led the way with 30 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points and 12 rebounds. OG Anunoby contributed 17 points, and Josh Hart controlled the boards with 15 rebounds.
With home-court advantage now secured, the Knicks will try to take a 2-0 series lead when Game 2 tips off Friday night in San Antonio.
