Dante Moore drops selfless truth bomb on Oregon football before 2026 season

Oregon football spent much of last season as one of the best teams in all of college football, but the Ducks left the campaign with a sour taste in their mouths. Despite reaching the College Football Playoff semifinals at the Peach Bowl with wins over James Madison and Texas Tech, Oregon was blown out by eventual national champion Indiana.

Quarterback Dante Moore will want revenge from that game against the Hoosiers, where he threw a pick-six on the first play of the game and never got into a rhythm against the vaunted Indiana defense.

Moore could have been a top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but he opted to come back to Oregon instead. While he will have plenty of chances to rack up the stats and individual honors during the 2026 season, he and the rest of his teammates aren’t focused on any of that.

“I think every day when we take the field, there’s no egos at all,” Moore said on Tuesday. “There’s nobody that’s ever saying, ‘Hey I’m worried about myself.’ Everybody on this team is worried about getting the team better. Of course, when it’s the guys that’s going out on the field, and it’s the guys on scout team, whatever it is, everybody’s pouring into this team. … That’s something that Coach Lanning has preached to us for years here, and it’s something that we’ve been embracing.”

Moore now comes into the 2026 season as one of the top quarterbacks in the country, and he is a popular pick to go No. 1 overall in the 2027 draft. Oregon will get wide receiver Evan Stewart back this fall after he missed the entire 2025 season with a knee injury, and he and Dakorien Moore form a dynamic one-two punch at wide receiver.

If this Oregon offense reaches its full potential this season, the Ducks will be very difficult to stop. Moore and company certainly have the ability to make their championship dreams come true.

Oregon gets its regular season underway in Week 1 on Sept. 5 against Boise State in Eugene.
