Micah Parsons stumps for Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s all-time greatness

Joe Burrow’s place amongst the best quarterbacks in the NFL is being questioned by a lot of fans. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback’s availability (or lack thereof) has led many critics to question if he truly deserves to be in the top five list. However, if you ask the players that Burrow has played against, they’ll vouch for the star’s talents.

Take Micah Parsons, for instance. The Green Bay Packers star talked a little bit about the Bengals star in the latest episode of his podcast. In it, he says that when Burrow is on, there’s few quarterbacks in the league who can match him on the field. Parsons says that there’s a reason that Burrow is ranked so highly, despite his spotty injury history.

Parsons has faced Burrow just once in their careers: during the 2024 season. The Bengals star lit up the Cowboys defense in that game, completing 33 of his 44 passing attempts for 369 yards, three touchdowns, and just one interception. Ja’Marr Chase was his favorite target as always, the wide receiver catching 14 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns. Parsons was quite in this game, failing to record a single sack. The Bengals won that game 27-20.

Burrow finished that season as arguably the best quarterback in the league. He ended the season with 4,918 passing yards and 43 passing touchdowns (both top marks that year) and completed a whopping 70.6% of his passes. The Bengals star did not win the MVP award that year, likely due to his team not making the postseason. However, that year did cement his status as one of the best QB in the league.

Unfortunately, Burrow’s 2025 campaign ended like most of his seasons so far. Burrow suffered a gruesome turf toe injury that kept him sidelined for nearly three months. That injury once again called into question the Bengals star’s availability and whether he’s truly a player who can lead a team to sustained playoff success.

This year is probably the Bengals’ best shot of making a deep postseason run after their two deep runs in 2021 and 2022. With a much-improved defense, a fortified offensive line, and the same offensive cast around him, Burrow and Cincinnati are hoping to give the city their first championship in franchise history.
