Tiger Woods to change plea in Florida DUI case, court appearance date revealed

Tiger Woods will reportedly have a court appearance to change his plea in his DUI case in March.

Woods originally pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence in his March rollover car crash on Jupiter Island, Florida. The pro golfer waived his arraignment and demanded a jury trial, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.

After the March rollover crash, he was charged with property damage, refusal to submit to a lawful test, and was later cited for careless driving. He pleaded not guilty to all of the charges on March 31.

During a press conference, Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said that officers found “two white pills” that were later “revealed to be hydrocodone,” inside Woods’ “left side pant pocket.”

After the crash, he took to X to acknowledge the incident and share his plans on recovery moving forward.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” he wrote in a statement via X back in March. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”

Woods reportedly went to a rehabilitation center in Zurich, Switzerland following the crash and completed the program this month, according to TMZ.

This news follows Woods going viral for a video he shared last week of him honoring golfer Notah Begay at Begay’s Payne Stewart Award ceremony Tuesday, Aug. 25.

“More people need to know what you’ve done and how you’ve served … you’re trying to raise the bar to allow people to go ahead and achieve a lot more in life,” Woods said in part in the video.

A top comment on the video wrote, “Tiger looks a shell of his former self.”

Another fan also came to Woods’ defense, “Tiger looks great for his age and health setbacks! He’s aging like everyone else. His arm muscles look solid from working out.”

Woods has not spoken out amid the upcoming court appearance on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
