Mexico vs England betting offer: Get 40/1 on Kane to have a shot with Sky Bet

England face Mexico in the World Cup round of 16 on Sunday night, with a place in the quarter finals at stake as the two nations meet in Mexico City.

The Three Lions booked their place in the knockout rounds in dramatic fashion on Wednesday, coming from behind to beat DR Congo 2-1 in Atlanta thanks to two late goals from captain Harry Kane.

Ahead of the match, Sky Bet have announced hugely enhanced odds of 40/1 for England captain Harry Kane to have a shot against Mexico for new customers, an offer which can be added straight into your bet slip using this link.

That victory sends Thomas Tuchel’s men across the border to face tournament co-hosts Mexico, with England aiming to reach the quarter-finals of a major international competition for the fifth tournament in succession.

England progressed as winners of Group L after victories over Croatia and Panama, alongside a goalless stalemate with Ghana. Tuchel’s side have now recorded five wins and one draw since arriving in North America for this summer’s finals.

Mexico, meanwhile, have been one of the standout teams of the tournament, winning all four of their matches without conceding a single goal.

Their 2-0 success against a highly rated Ecuador outfit on Tuesday is arguably their most accomplished display of the competition so far, and they will be eager to deliver another memorable performance in front of their own supporters.

Sunday’s contest will also be Mexico’s final fixture on home soil, with every match from the quarter-finals onwards taking place in the United States.

The Azteca Stadium has long been a fortress for El Tri, with the venue’s altitude of more than 7,000 feet often proving a significant advantage.

Mexico have suffered just two defeats in 89 matches at the famous stadium, winning 70 of them, and they are unbeaten in 10 World Cup games played there.

Javier Aguirre’s team have enjoyed an excellent run of form in 2026, winning 10 of their 12 matches since the start of the year, including each of their last seven.

Victories over South Africa, South Korea and the Czech Republic secured top spot in Group A before star forwards Raul Jimenez and Julian Quinones found the net in the last-32 victory over Ecuador.

England have dominated the recent head-to-head record, winning each of the last four meetings between the nations, most recently at Wembley in 2010.

However, the Three Lions have never beaten Mexico on their own turf and have not travelled there for an international since 1985.
