Max Kellerman thinks Victor Wembanyama could hold NBA hostage ‘forever’
Add Max Kellerman to the list of believers in the immense potential of Victor Wembanyama. The sports world is still reeling over Wembanyama’s performance in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. The San Antonio big man finished the game with 41 points, 24 rebounds, three blocks, and one steal to power his team to the double-overtime victory over the defending champions.
Max Kellerman says if Victor Wembanyama stays healthy, no team will EVER win another championship:
“If he stays healthy, pack it up everybody! The time to win a championship was try and load up this year and do something. If Wemby stays healthy, no one is winning anything,… https://t.co/cooq3gCIIP pic.twitter.com/NwfsBn7HQF

The performance inspired Kellerman to go to his Game Over podcast with Rich Paul and declare that Wembanyama will hold the NBA hostage forever.
“Wemby is a baby. He’s 22. He, he’s 7’5″ and can’t post up a guy who’s not even 6 and a half feet tall. Guess what? [To] hell with posting up when you can pull up from 28 feet. My point is when he gets that, it’s…If he stays healthy, pack it up, everybody. The time to win the championship was try to load up this year and do something. If Wemby stays healthy, no one is winning anything- Well- …forever … Stop playing basketball. The NBA is over.”
Kellerman isn’t the first media prognosticator to foretell the era of Wembanyama forthcoming. Many in the sports world believe that Wembanyama will ultimately grow his game and turn into an unstoppable player who will have enevitable playoff and championship success.
But, with Game 1 in the distance, a long series is ahead. The path to Wembanyama’s first championship continues on Wednesday night, as San Antonio heads back to the Paycom Center to see if they can steal another game from two-time MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his Oklahoma City Thunder.
