Logan Paul slams Alexander Sorloth for Norway’s World Cup QF loss

Despite getting knocked out against England in the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals, the Norway soccer team managed win hearts all across the world. Deemed as equal favorites to win the match against England, fans believe Norway lost the match after Alexander Sorloth failed to pass the ball to Erling Haaland in the first half of the game.

Alexander Sorloth came at the receiving end of severe hate on social media after he tried to shoot the ball himself and not pass it to Haaland in the 43rd minute. Despite a clear opening, Sorloth failed to see it and attempted a shot himself, failing to increase Norway’s 1-0 lead. Norway finished the game 1-2 and lost the knockout game.

Shortly after, celebrity athlete Logan Paul, who has been following the sport closely during this year’s World Cup, took aim at Sorloth and blamed him for the loss. Instead of displaying any sympathy for the losing side, Paul went on a brutal rant and put the entire blame for Norway’s loss on Sorloth for that missed passing opportunity.

“I keep seeing that clip of the dude not passing the ball & I’m so gutted for Haaland. The entire country of Norway lost because one guy wanted to have a moment,” the former WWE United States Champion said.

Speaking to the press after his team’s World Cup exit, Sorloth explained why he failed to pass to Haaland. “I take a touch and look up, and then I see that [John] Stones blocks that pass. Then I take another touch, and that is too bad. I wait for him to make a move instead of me making him make a move. “The only thing I want in that situation there is to pass to Erling. Then it feels like that pass isn’t there, and then I go for the shot,” he said.

A crucial part of Norway’s squad throughout the tournament, that one crucial devastating mistake turned the entire wave of support against him.
