Titans’ Wan’Dale Robinson gets huge update after recent injury scare
The Tennessee Titans received encouraging news regarding wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson following a concerning moment at joint practice with the Chicago Bears.
Robinson was evaluated for a possible concussion after Wednesday’s session, but he is not currently believed to have suffered one, according to a recent report by Ian Rapoport. The Titans will continue monitoring him in case any symptoms develop.
Robinson took a “cheap shot” by a Bears defender, according to head coach Robert Saleh. He left practice early, but after good news from the latest update, it doesn’t seem like he should miss any more time due to this hit. The Titans and Bears play their preseason finale Saturday night.
Robinson is expected to play an important role in Tennessee’s passing attack this season. His quickness and ability to create separation give the offense a useful option throughout the playbook. His availability is especially valuable for Cam Ward and the rest of the unit, especially rookie Carnell Tate.
Ward took ownership of what happened during practice that led to the cheap shot from the Bears’ defender.
“He is good,” Ward said, referring to Robinson. “I got to put him in a better situation, so that is on me. He’s tough. I am going to do my best to prevent that from happening again.”
The Titans will continue monitoring Robinson, but they can breathe a little easier for now. His status for Saturday’s game is up in the air, and it is unclear at the moment what Saleh’s plan is for the finale in terms of playing starters.
