Lincoln Riley reveals why USC QB Jayden Maiava didn’t finish blowout Fresno State win
USC Trojans head football coach Lincoln Riley cleared up concerns surrounding Jayden Maiava after the starting quarterback left Friday night’s 39-0 shutout win over the Fresno State Bulldogs early.
Riley said Maiava was healthy and that the Trojans simply wanted true freshman Jonas Williams to get meaningful snaps with the game well in hand.

relayed the postgame explanation from Riley on X, formerly Twitter, after Maiava had landed on his right shoulder during a third-quarter run and played only one series after halftime.
