Knicks vs. Spurs 2026 NBA Finals Game 2 prediction, odds, pick

It’s time for another betting prediction and pick inside the 2026 NBA Finals as we head back to San Antonio for this Game 2 tilt. The New York Knicks will visit the San Antonio Spurs leading the series 1-0 and looking for a commanding 2-0 lead. Check our NBA Finals odds series for the Knicks-Spurs prediction and pick.

The New York Knicks took Game 1 of the NBA Finals 105-95, winning their 12th-straight game during these 2026 NBA Playoffs. They haven’t lost since Game 3 of their First Round series and after tying their regular season series against San Antonio at 1-1, they’ve opened their first Finals series since 1999 with a massive Game 1 win and control heading into Game 2.

The Spurs will look to avoid an 0-2 hole for the first time during their 2026 Playoffs run. While they lost back-to-back games against Oklahoma City, heading to Madison Square Garden down two games could be an insurmountable deficit as the Knicks have been one of the best home teams in the NBA this year. Still, it’s never smart to count this team out especially as the home favorites.

Keys to Knicks vs. Spurs Matchup

During Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs caught heat midway through the first quarter and turned that momentum into a seven-point lead at halftime. Victor Wembanyama looked dominant early and rookie Dylan Harper, who notched 16 points off the bench, lifted the Spurs to a dominant first half. Knicks fans were collectively holding their breath at several points of the game with Jalen Brunson coming up hobbled on two occasions, but later came back to lead all players with 30 points.

Even more impressive, Brunson did his best work in the fourth quarter with the game in the balance by scoring 13 points and helping his team stave off a late surge from the Spurs. He’s arguably been the playoffs’ best player in the fourth quarter, averaging 9.5 PPG in the final 12 minutes and coming up with clutch buckets down the stretch. Julian Champagnie was huge for the Spurs in hitting 5-10 from three, but the rest of San Antonio went a collective 6-33 from deep as it seriously hurt their chances to grow an even greater lead.

While Victor Wembanyama did all he could from a defensive standpoint, the Knicks were much more aggressive in driving the basket than many had expected. They totaled 25 free throw attempts to San Antonio’s 18, making a serious difference while creating foul trouble early and forcing the Spurs to play conservatively around the rim. During this Game 2, expect the Knicks to continue being aggressive in the paint while they hope to get more calls their way on the road.

The Spurs will have their backs against the wall in Game 2 as it’ll be extremely tough for them to win two-straight games on the road in Madison Square Garden. Both Stephon Castle and De’Aaron Fox will have to have much improved games on both ends of the floor while creating frustration for Jalen Brunson the moment he steps across half court. Unless they can effectively shut down the Knicks’ floor general, they won’t be able to stand much of a chance against New York’s current momentum.

Knicks vs. Spurs Prediction and Pick

Seeing the Spurs fall apart during the second half of Game 1 came as quite the shock as they’ve typically been good in preserving leads throughout these NBA Playoffs. However, it’s clear the Knicks are playing with a chip on their shoulder and with 12-straight wins, they’ve easily been the hottest team during this postseason, anxiously waiting to get back to Madison Square Garden for its first Finals game since 1999.

However, I think the Spurs have too much motivation behind Wembanyama and they’ve been very good about avoiding consecutive losses during these playoffs. Expect them to make significant adjustments in terms of their defense and taking away the driving lanes for both Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson. Backup center Luke Kornet will also have a big role in shutting down Mitchell Robinson and trying to make him a non-factor on the boards.

For our final prediction, let’s roll with the San Antonio Spurs to bounce back with a big win as they tie this series 1-1 heading back to New York.

Final Knicks-Spurs Game 2 Prediction & Pick: San Antonio Spurs -5.5 (-115); OVER 214.5 (-112)
