Knicks’ Jalen Brunson sounds off on what sparked Game 1 comeback vs. Spurs

The New York Knicks had a ton of time off heading into Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, but they didn’t show many signs of rust. Despite falling behind by 14 points in the second half on the road, New York came back to get a 105-95 win and take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Despite suffering through multiple injury scares and some shooting struggles in the first half of Game 1, Jalen Brunson led the Knicks to the win in the fourth quarter as he so often does. After the game, Brunson talked about the comeback and the biggest key for the Knicks to claw back in the game.

“Honestly, I just think our chemistry,” Brunson said. “Just knowing that we have each others’ back. There’s a lot of things Xs-and-Os-wise that we could’ve done better, but I think most importantly our togetherness was the biggest difference.”
