Knicks’ Jalen Brunson reacts to lookalike with 1 emoji

After a contest was held to determine a lookalike for the 2026 NBA Finals MVP, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson reacted to one of his doppelgängers.

A post circulated of one of Brunson’s many lookalikes. The fan was decked out in all of his gear, complete with a jersey and arm sleeve.

The 2026 NBA Finals MVP was definitely tickled by the post. He commented on the viral post on Instagram, just posting a skull emoji.

Knicks fans held a Jalen Brunson lookalike contest

A lookalike contest for Brunson’s doppelgängers was held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Washington Square Park in New York City, the day before the Knicks’ championship parade. The contest was sponsored by Polymarket, and the top prize was $5,000.

Brunson is coming off an MVP-winning performance in the NBA Finals. He averaged 32.6 points per game in the series, and he helped put it away in Game 5. He scored 45 points in Game 5, making more than half of his shots. Brunson also made 13 of his 15 free throw attempts.

The Knicks won the franchise’s first championship since 1973 in 2026. This ended a 53-year drought, and it came against the San Antonio Spurs, who previously beat the Knicks during their last NBA Finals appearance in 1999.

Since joining the Knicks in 2022, Brunson has led the Knicks to the playoffs in all four years. He has also made three All-Star teams from 2024 to 2026, and he was named to the All-NBA Second Team three times in that stretch as well.

Brunson has always had a winning pedigree. In college at Villanova, he was part of two championship teams. He also led the Knicks to the NBA Cup championship in 2025 (which was also won against the Spurs).

Before his time with the Knicks, Brunson spent the first four years of his NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks. He was drafted by the Mavericks in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft.
