Colts’ Cam Taylor-Britt suspended one game amid training camp

After spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals, cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt joined the Indianapolis Colts over the offseason. But now, his Colts debut will be delayed.

Taylor-Britt has been suspended one game for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, via Adam Schefter of ESPN. Back in January, the cornerback was arrested for reckless driving and sentenced to five days in jail. Now, the league is doling out their own punishment for the incident.

Once his suspension is served, Taylor-Britt will be looking to start fresh. He did end his 2025 campaign on injured reserve with a foot injury, so the Colts must ensure he is fully healthy. But by Week 2 if the cornerback is ready to go, it seems like Indianapolis will be ready to unleash him.

Over his four years with the Bengals, Cam-Britt put up 203 tackles, 38 passes defended and seven interceptions. His last fully healthy season in 2024 saw him start all 17 games while recording 77 tackles, 16 passes defended and three interceptions.

Even with Sauce Gardner on the roster, Indianapolis still finished their 2025 campaign ranked 31st in pass defense, allowing 247.9 yards per game. If the Colts want to be considered a true playoff contender, they can’t be as porous in the pass game.

Taylor-Britt won’t turn the franchise into world beaters over night. But he does give the franchise a trusted option at corner when fully healthy. In Week 1, he’ll be watching his new team play away from the stadium. Once cleared to go, Taylor-Britt will be counting on as a key piece of Indianapolis’ secondary.
