Kevin Durant gives Philadelphia fans ultimate compliment in MLB All-Star Game

Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant was at the ballpark on Wednesday to catch the MLB All-Star Game in Philadelphia. Durant is an avid follower of baseball, and he did not pass up the chance to watch the midseason classic in person.

He flew to the East Coast as he is set to attend the Fanatics Fest in New York on Thursday and Friday.

In the meantime, he took in the festivities in the MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park, including meeting Chicago White Sox infielder Munetaka Murakami and Cleveland Guardians second baseman Travis Bazzana during batting practice.

The 37-year-old Durant was asked about the fans in Philadelphia, and he only had good things to say.

“Philly fans, they got the most passion. It’s up there. I think everybody on the East Coast is pretty passionate—from New York, Boston, Philly, usually those three have the most radical fans when it comes to being loud in the ballpark or in the arena,” said the two-time Finals MVP in the video posted by NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark.

He has had his fair share of intense battles with the Philadelphia 76ers, and he admitted that he enjoys talking smack with fans in the City of Brotherly Love.

“It’s all in good fun. It’s respect when they start talking to you. That means they respect you, you know. They fear you a little bit. You can hear it in their voice, the ones who respect you and the ones who just don’t respect you,” added Durant.

The veteran forward grew up cheering for the Washington Nationals. He is also a big supporter of the White Sox.
