Watford vs West Ham prediction
Watford have had a good start to the season with a win and a draw taking them to seventh in the table.
That’s certainly better than West Ham’s position who’ve picked up just a point after their first two games.
Inside the first 80 minutes back in the Championship against Burnley a couple of weeks ago they were looking like a side that could bounce right back up following their shocking relegation.
But they suffered two late goals to settle for a draw before losing to Charlton 2-1 in their first home game of the season.
Now they face a Watford side content on making things more difficult for them as the pressure is already mounting for them to starting putting three points on the board in what could be a long arduous season for the Hammers.
As such, a draw or a Watford home win look to be the better plays at this stage but you certainly can not rule out West Ham getting on the scoresheet even more and finally coming up with that needed win.
Watford vs West Ham betting tips
Goals galore?
West Ham have scored seven goals in their last three competitive fixtures, which included a massive 4-1 victory over the Saints on Tuesday night in the second round of the EFL Cup.
Though those games can often be taken with a pinch of salt due to the changes in the starting XI’s, it still shows that West Ham are very capable in front of goal as they were against Burnley and went close against Charlton numerous times despite only coming away with just one goal.
They had as many as 22 shots on goal, nine on target and controlled 78% of the ball against the Addicks so there’s certainly a case to be made that they are just waiting for the time to come alive in this Championship campaign.
Bowen on fire
Jarrod Bowen surprised a lot of football fans when he decided to turn down any transfer away from West Ham to stay in the Premier League, opting instead to stay with his beloved club in the Championship.
As such, he’s always a huge danger in front of goal and providing assists for his teammates as he has been so capable of in dire times for the Hammers in the top-flight.
He’s boosted on Spreadex at 2/1 to score anytime and that looks like huge value even at his regular price of 7/4 against Watford who are always a side that can be unpredictable in the Championship.
And such is the nature of this league is that any team will eventually be capable of beating the other.
