Karl-Anthony Towns gives props to Hawks’ CJ McCollum for taking down Knicks in Game 2
Karl-Anthony Towns delivered his props to CJ McCollum following the latter’s explosive performance in the Atlanta Hawks’ upset win over the New York Knicks in Game 2 on Monday night.
Going into the game, Atlanta trailed 1-0 in the first-round series after losing Game 1. They needed a win on the road to go back home with a chance of having a series lead within the next two contests.
McCollum made sure they had the opportunity to pull it off. In 35 minutes of action, he finished with a stat line of 32 points, six assists, three rebounds, two steals, and one block. He shot 12-of-22 from the field, including 3-of-10 from beyond the arc, and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line. Towns, who had 18 points and eight rebounds on 8-of-12 shooting overall, gave credit to McCollum for his efforts in leading Atlanta to victory.
“When it came down to it, CJ McCollum made some tough shots and you’ve got to give credit where credit is due. Hell of a player, he’s been a hell of a player for a long time in this league,” Towns said after the game.
