Is Kevin Durant playing tonight? Rockets vs. Lakers 2026 NBA Playoffs Game 2 injury report

The Houston Rockets will look to avoid falling down 0-2 in their first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. They could remain without Kevin Durant for the pivotal Game 2 matchup.

After missing Game 1 due to a right knee contusion, Durant is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s matchup. The Rockets’ leading scorer injured his knee during a collision at practice last week. However, Durant was a partial participant in Houston’s practice on Monday.

Ime Udoka said the star forward will be a game-time decision for Tuesday’s matchup.

“He went through about half of the (practice),” Udoka told The Athletic’s Will Guillroy. “I would say mobility probably (is most important). The pain tolerance is one thing, but actually moving and feeling comfortable doing all the movements is going to be the biggest thing.”

Durant’s presence will be critical for a Houston team that has struggled to generate offense down the stretch of games for most of this season.

The Rockets shot 35-of-93 (38.0 percent) from the field and 11-of-33 (33.0 percent) from three during their 107-98 Game 1 loss. No Houston player cracked 20 points during the defeat.

With starting point guard Fred VanVleet sidelined, Ime Udoka’s squad ranked 20th in clutch offensive rating (108.2) this season. Durant has been the team’s most steady source of offense during his age-37 season, averaging 26.0 points and 4.8 assists on .520/.413/.874 shooting splits. The Rockets have scored 3.4 fewer points per 100 possessions with Durant on the court vs. off, the team’s highest offensive rating swing, per CleaningTheGlass.

The Rockets are 4.5-point favorites for Tuesday’s game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Los Angeles will remain without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves during the matchup.
