Missouri RB Ahmad Hardy to miss season opener as he recovers form gunshot wound
Missouri football will open the 2026 season without star running back Ahmad Hardy as he continues working his way back from a gunshot wound suffered in May. The junior will miss the Tigers’ season opener Thursday night against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Faurot Field.
On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos confirmed Hardy’s status Thursday on X, formerly Twitter, providing a game-day update on the Tigers’ leading rusher from last season. Hardy has made progress in his recovery but has not completed Missouri’s return-to-play requirements.
“Missouri RB Ahmad Hardy continues to progress back from his gunshot wound and won’t be available tonight.”
