Jets host Will Levis for workout after Titans release

The New York Jets held two notable workouts in a span of 24 hours. Kicker Justin Tucker rose as one who appeared inside the franchise’s facility. But the appearance of Will Levis will turn heads.

The Tennessee Titans quarterback officially entered NFL Free Agency following his release on Aug. 31. Levis rose as one of the veterans who didn’t make the final 53-man roster. Now NFL insider for Netflix and The Ringer Tom Pelissero reported that the former second rounder worked out for the AFC East team Thursday.

Levis wasn’t the only one who threw in front of head coach Aaron Glenn and company, though. Jets insider for The Athletic Zack Rosenblatt reported that Jack Plummer worked out as well. Yet both are vying for one available practice squad spot.

So Levis flipped from potential franchise QB for Tennessee to someone aiming to land anywhere. Even if it means settling for the practice squad and taking a lesser role. Yet his Titans future looked nebulous following his rookie season.

Tennessee chose to draft Heisman Trophy finalist from the Miami Hurricanes Cam Ward in the 2025 cycle. Ward immediately ascended into the starter, beating out Levis in the process.

The former Kentucky Wildcats star leaves Tennessee racking up 3,899 yards and tossing 21 touchdowns, 13 coming in 2024. But that latter output came prior to the drafting of Ward. Levis also took 69 sacks in his two seasons as a Titans starter, including 41 during the ’24 campaign.

But Levis holds no ill will toward the Titans, thanking them in a social media post following his release.
