Injured WWE star breaks silence after sudden release before her return
While she was on the mend and nearing her return from her leg injury, WWE let Zoey Stark go as part of the latest round of releases from the company.
Stark is taking it on the chin, and she has thanked WWE for making a “young girl’s dream come true.” She appreciated the company’s support as she recovered from her injury.
“Thank you WWE, you made a young girls dream come true. You could not have been better and more supportive during my healing and I will be forever grateful,” Stark began on X, formerly Twitter. “Thank you to all the girls in the back, the producers, camera men you were all incredibly kind and gracious.
“And a special Thank you to Terry Taylor and Coach Bloom for teaching me so much and being a shoulder to lean on. Its just the end of this chapter and the beginning of a new one. Falling Foward, onward and upward with God’s plan,” she continued.
Zoey Stark was one of the many WWE stars released

Stark was one of the many names released by WWE after WrestleMania 42. News of the releases began surfacing on Friday, Apr. 24.
The entirety of the Wyatt Sicks faction (Bo Dallas/Uncle Howdy), Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan, and Dexter Lumis were released. As was Kairi Sane, who was in the midst of a storyline with Asuka and Iyo Sky at the time of her release.
Former Tag Team Champions the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) and the husband-wife duo of Aleister Black and Zelina Vega were also let go. Other midcarders like Apollo Crews and Alba Fyre were cut as well.
Stark injured her knee in a Money in the Bank-qualifying match in May 2025 against Rhea Ripley and Sane. She attempted a missile dropkick from the top rope before landing awkwardly, tearing her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. Her release marks the end of her five-year tenure with the promotion.
