Injured 3-time WWE Champion looks jacked in social media post amid hiatus

It has been over half a year since WWE Superstar Sheamus last competed in a match, as he has been out with a shoulder injury that required surgery.

On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the “Celtic Warrior” provided an update to his fans. The three-time WWE Champion posted a picture of himself flexing, and he looks as buff as ever. In his caption, he claimed, “No one can hang with prime fella.”

One thing is for sure — Sheamus looks better than ever amid his WWE injury hiatus. Whenever he comes back, Drew McIntyre won’t be able to joke that it’s been “burger after burger after burger.”

When will Sheamus return to WWE from his injury?

It’s unknown when Sheamus will be able to return from his injury. He last competed in a match in November 2025, teaming up with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat the Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Bálor, and JD McDonagh).

Unfortunately, his shoulder injury caused him to pull out of the “Last Time is Now” tournament, which was held to determine John Cena’s last opponent.

Hopefully, he is able to come back sooner rather than later. Sheamus is still in need of an Intercontinental Championship reign, as it’s the only title he hasn’t won to become a Grand-Slam champion.

The “Celtic Warrior” has been banged up over the last couple of years. He suffered a shoulder injury in 2023 that kept him out of commission until April 2024. He’d take another break later in the year, returning in May 2025.

Over the last couple of years, Sheamus has stepped back from the main event scene, opting to chase the Intercontinental Championship. He feuded with Gunther throughout 2022 and 2023 during the “Ring General’s” record-setting 666-day reign as champion. Sami Zayn, not Sheamus, would eventually dethrone him at WrestleMania 40 in April 2024.
