Harris English gets honest on PGA Tour adding LIV Golfers back amid funding rumors
LIV Golf has been the talk of golf conversation, one week removed from the 2026 Masters. Rumors circulated about the demise of LIV, and while LIV CEO Scott O’Neill firmly denied them, conversations continue about the possibility of some popular LIV players returning to the PGA Tour.
Harris English, a very respected golfer on the tour, is the latest to voice his opinion on the matter in a recent interview with Adam Schupak at Golfweek.
“We’ll have to figure something out because adding some of those guys will put our Tour back where it belongs with our TV contracts coming up. That would be a good position to be in,” Harris English, a member of the Player Advisory Council, said. “I like where the Tour is right now, I like what Brian Rolapp is doing in his limited time so far. I know we’ll have a lot of conflicting opinions on who comes back, how do the exemptions work, but I have faith in not only Rolapp but Keith, Mav, Adam, and Tiger when he gets back.”
“Will DeChambeau, Rahm, and perhaps another player or two be given preferential treatment to return? “Potentially,” English said.
Harris English is at the RBC Heritage with the rest of the tour, minus Rory McIlroy after his back-to-back Masters win. English dominated on Thursday in South Carolina, scoring a 64 for the second-best score of the day behind Ludvig Aberg. English just began his second round on Friday with a birdie on the first, as he aims to be in the final groups heading into the weekend.
