Giants’ ejected Tony Vitello goes bonkers after Turner Hill HBP is ruled a foul

With the San Francisco Giants manager Tony Vitello leading the team as a first-time skipper, he’s getting the full experience of arguing with the umpire crew. After the Giants manager in Vitello was ejected on Wednesday during the team’s 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, add another ejection to his resume on Saturday.

While San Francisco beat the New York Mets on Saturday afternoon, 9-5, Vitello would be thrown out of the game in the top of the second inning after the team lost a challenge, contesting that Turner Hill was hit by the pitch instead of a foul ball.

When the umpire announced that the call was going to stand, Vitello immediately went to talk to the officiating crew about it and was thrown out when approaching them.

As people like to say, Vitello wanted to get his money’s worth and understand why the umpires ruled it a foul ball and held the call up. Saturday marks Vitello’s sixth ejection in his first season as manager for the Giants, and it’s the third time in the last 10 days that he’s been thrown out of a game.

At any rate, the game did result in a win for San Francisco as the team is now at a 59-84 record, which puts them last in the NL West, as the series against the Mets continues on Sunday.
