Eagles’ Nick Sirianni hits Joey Tribbiani with stray in NSFW rant on leadership

Say what you want about Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, but he’s a leader and doesn’t care what you think about him.

During an interview with The Athletic, Sirianni discussed his leadership style. He called himself a “way better actor” than Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiani on Friends.

“F**k that,” Sirianni said in response to those who question his behavior and if he’d “mute his personality” at the suggestion of players. “You’ve got to be you. Especially in leadership roles. Because otherwise people are going to see through it. I’m [at work] way more than I’m at home. I can’t possibly carry a façade of being somebody else for going on six years of a job. I’d [have to] be the best actor in the world. I’d be a way better actor than Joey Tribbiani on Friends.”

2026 marks the sixth year for Sirianni as the head coach of the Eagles. They have made the playoffs in all five of Sirianni’s first five years in the City of Brotherly Love.

The Eagles are now a full year removed from their dominant Super Bowl 59 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. They had lost to the Chiefs two years earlier, getting their revenge in February 2025.

However, the 2025 season didn’t go as well. The Eagles went 11-6, still finishing in first place in the NFC East, but they lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

They are hoping to reclaim their spot at the top of the mountain in 2026. The Eagles just traded top receiver A.J. Brown during the offseason, and Sean Mannion will take over as offensive coordinator.

Before joining the Eagles as their head coach, Sirianni had several jobs throughout the NFL. He was the offensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts from 2018 to 2020 before landing the Eagles’ gig.
