Victor Wembanyama, Nike officially launch “Alien” shoe logo
The San Antonio Spurs watched Victor Wembanyama become a mega star in just his third season in the NBA. After an NBA Finals berth that saw a lot of promise, but much growth still on the horizon, everyone is preparing for Wembanyama to be the new face of the NBA, especially as LeBron James moves to Philadelphia for year 24 of his career.
On Friday, news came down that Victor Wembanyama has re-upped and signed a new, long-term deal with Nike. That new contract is also set to include a signature shoe.
Shortly before the news dropped, Nike dropped a post on their social media channels captioned, “The game looks different from here,” and a video attached displaying an explosion happening somewhere in space. After it subsided, the remaining, glowing debris appeared to tease Victor Wembanyama’s new logo in addition to the Nike logo just below it.
With the news of Wembanyama’s extension with Nike as well as news of the impending signature shoe, fans can’t help but think this will be the new logo for the San Antonio Spurs star.

This has nearly been the perfect summer for Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs star reached the NBA Finals, but fell short against the New York Knicks. This comes after he unanimously won the 2025-26 Defensive Player of the Year award.
Earlier this summer, Wembanyama agreed and signed a five-year, $252.3 million maximum rookie extension with the Spurs, taking an approximately $50 million paycut in the process to try and help San Antonio build a sustainable championship contender for years to come.
And just last week, Wembanyama was officialy unveiled as the cover athlete for the all new NBA 2K27, joining Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and former Chicago Bulls great Derrick Rose on the new video game cover.
The future is bright for Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs, and this only appears to be the beginning of for someone who could finish as the greatest player in NBA history.
