Trey Hendrickson drops Jesse Minter truth bomb during Ravens’ training camp

The Baltimore Ravens have a new head coach leading the way in Jesse Minter after moving on from John Harbaugh this offseason. Newly acquired edge rusher Trey Hendrickson joins the defense, too, and it sounds like he’s ultimately impressed with Minter early on in training camp.

While speaking with media members on Friday, Hendrickson, 31, revealed why he likes what he’s seeing from Minter so far, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. The soon-to-be 10-year veteran also admitted he can’t wait to get into pads and continue working with his new defense in Minter’s defensive scheme.

“I think he’s got a great defensive mind,” Hendrickson said about Minter. “I think he’s putting a lot of high-talent players in good positions, [and] using what he’s got. I’m impressed, and I’m excited to get into pads so we can really start to rep these plays.”

The 43-year-old head coach worked his way up the career ladder on the defensive side of the ball. He’s worked at the collegiate and pro levels and has multiple years of experience as a defensive coordinator. The Ravens gave him his first shot at being a head coach to replace Harbaugh after 18 years.

As for Trey Hendrickson, he signs with the third team in his career on a four-year, $112 million contract. He aims to serve as the club’s go-to pass rusher for the 2026-27 campaign and beyond. The four-time Pro Bowler is coming off a down year, however, after he was limited to just seven games due to a hip/pelvis injury. He finished with 16 combined tackles (11 solo), four sacks, and one forced fumble.
