Drake London reveals true story behind epic Taco Bell proposal to fiancee

Drake London remembered what Sofia Gabay said to him during their second date and pulled out all the stops during their proposal.

The Atlanta Falcons star proposed to Gabay earlier this month, and the couple went viral for adding Taco Bell into their special moment. London told reporters during Thursday, July 30 practice that the idea came from when they went on a second date, and Gabay stated that it would be a “dream” for someone to propose to her one day with Taco Bell.

“Noted,” London responded.

He shared the story after Falcons practice per ESPN.

“She was actually more stoked about the Taco Bell than the ring,” London said. “It’s telling what type of woman I got. So, I was excited, though. She was, too.”

The proposal took place in Los Angeles on a desert ranch backdrop with a dinner table filled with Taco Bell. The NFL star ordered Crunchwrap Supremes as well as a couple of other menu items including the infamous Taco Bell hot sauce.

The Taco Bell was not the only sentimental touch that London added to their special day. Gabay shared their proposal story on Instagram where she shared that the night began at the ranch where the couple got to hang out with alpacas.

“I have a crazy obsession with alpacas,” Gabay said.

After they petted the alpacas, he had a dress and a pair of heels waiting for her in the car to change into. Gabay had told London she wanted to wear the dress if he decided to propose one day.

“I started crying,” Gabay said.

When she got dressed, the ranch owner took her over to London, who was waiting with her Crunchwraps and the ring.

“I have a crazy love for Taco Bell,” Gabay said. “It could not have been more perfect.”

After the proposal, the couple went to Nobu to finish dinner and their special night.

Since Gabay has a love for Taco Bell, he was asked if they would have it for their wedding reception when they decide to tie the knot and maybe have them as a sponsor. As of right now, nothing is in the books, yet London quipped, “We’re working on it. Taco Bell is kind of tough.”
