Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages exits Pirates clash after scary HBP

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages exited Friday night’s game vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates after taking a pitch off his left hand in the third inning at Dodger Stadium.

Pages initially remained in the contest before Enrique Hernandez replaced him in center field, creating an immediate injury concern for the Dodgers.

Dodgers Nation shared the sequence on X, formerly Twitter, citing the SportsNet LA broadcast as the 25-year-old outfielder ultimately left the game.

“Andy Pages has exited the game and is being replaced in center field by Kiké Hernández.

Pages was hit by a pitch on his left hand back in the 3rd inning.

He initially stayed in the game but has now been removed, hopefully as a precaution.

Hoping for the best for Andy! 🙏

The Dodgers provided the first official medical designation shortly afterward on the platform, narrowing the concern to the outfielder’s left hand rather than leaving the reason for his removal uncertain.

“Andy Pages left tonight’s game with a left hand contusion.”

The Dodgers’ rising slugger is expected to miss at least four weeks after taking a 100.2 mph sinker from Pirates right-hander Bubba Chandler off the hand in the third inning. He was in visible pain after the pitch, with Dave Roberts and an athletic trainer accompanying him to first base.

The injury news came after Los Angeles’ 5-4 walk-off win over Pittsburgh and means the Dodgers will have to navigate much of the remaining regular season without their All-Star center fielder.
