Phillies’ Alec Bohm talks wild mood swing at CBP after walk-off win over Cardinals
Alec Bohm is over the moon to have helped the Philadelphia Phillies escape with a big win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night.
Bohm is going through the seventh season of his career in the majors with the Phillies. He has secured a firm role in the batting unit, looking to lead his squad to significant success.
Philadelphia and St. Louis traded blows throughout the series opener, going into extra innings after being even at five runs apiece. St. Louis scored in the top of the 10th, but it wasn’t enough as Bohm nailed a triple to center field that drove home for the last two runs of the game.
Bohm reflected on the game-winning play after the contest, per reporter Dave Uram. He noted how the highlight hyped up the home crowd, a flip from the tension fans felt for portions of the game.
“It’s just a lot of fun to play in front of a packed house and have a back-and-forth game like that. Obviously, there’s all sorts of different emotions on both sides. They’re fighting for a playoff spot. We’re fighting for the same thing, and it’s just that’s when baseball gets really fun,” Bohm said.
